Compliance-first payments / Pharmacies

Payment processing for pharmacies

Retail, specialty, and compounding pharmacies need a payments partner that understands state pharmacy boards, DEA requirements, and refill workflows. NoRamp does.

Pharmacy is one of the most heavily regulated payment verticals there is — state licensure, DEA registration, board inspections, and a long list of products that simply cannot be sold direct-to-consumer. NoRamp underwrites licensed pharmacies that operate within those rules and treats you as a long-term partner, not a quarterly risk decision.

How we approach pharmacies

State licensure verified

We verify state board of pharmacy licensure for every entity, plus DEA registration where applicable. Out-of-state shipping licenses are reviewed where required.

No prescriber shortcuts

We do not onboard pharmacies that fill prescriptions from questionnaire-only telehealth models for controlled substances or other restricted protocols.

Compounding compliance

503A and 503B compounding pharmacies are reviewed against their specific regulatory framework. We support legitimate compounding and decline operations that blur the line into mass manufacturing.

Refill and recurring workflows

Card-on-file with explicit consent capture for refill billing, including controlled-substance handling rules where applicable.

Frequently asked

Do you process for compounding pharmacies?

Yes, for licensed 503A and 503B operations within their regulatory framework. We will ask about your inspection history, USP <797> and <800> compliance, and the prescriber relationships you fill against.

Do you process for specialty pharmacies?

Yes. Specialty pharmacy is a clean vertical for us. We support the recurring billing and authorization workflows specialty therapies require.

What pharmacy models will you not support?

Questionnaire-only prescribing of controlled substances, online sale of prescription medications without verified prescriber relationships, and any model the FDA, DEA, or state boards have flagged as enforcement priorities.
