Compliance-first payments / Telehealth

Payment processing for telehealth providers

Licensed telehealth practices deserve a payments partner that takes compliance as seriously as you do. Transparent underwriting, no shortcuts, no surprise account holds.

Telehealth is one of the most heavily scrutinized payment verticals in the U.S. Between state-by-state licensing, controlled substance restrictions, and the patient-privacy obligations that come with health data, the wrong processor can shut you down overnight. NoRamp is built for licensed telehealth practices that want a long-term payments partner — not a short-term gamble.

How we approach telehealth

Licensed providers only

Every telehealth merchant we onboard is verified to be operating under appropriate state medical, nursing, or pharmacy licenses. We collect license numbers and confirm them with the issuing boards.

HIPAA-aware infrastructure

We never store protected health information in our payment metadata. Our checkout is designed to keep PHI inside your EHR and out of the payment stream.

No prescriber shortcuts

We do not onboard merchants who use questionnaire-only prescribing models for controlled substances or other restricted protocols. If the FDA or DEA has flagged the model, we will not process for it.

Transparent underwriting

You will know within days whether we can support your business — and exactly why. No black-box decisions, no quiet de-risking three months in.

Frequently asked

Do you process for telehealth practices that prescribe medications?

Yes, for licensed providers operating within FDA and state-board guidelines. We do not support questionnaire-only prescribing of controlled substances, GLP-1s outside of FDA-approved indications, or any model that has been the subject of regulatory action.

Are you HIPAA compliant?

Our payment infrastructure is designed to stay out of the PHI path. We do not require — and will not store — protected health information. You can sign a BAA with your EHR and keep PHI there; we only see the payment data we strictly need.

How long does telehealth underwriting take?

Most licensed telehealth practices are reviewed within 3–5 business days. We will ask for your state licenses, prescribing protocols (if applicable), website, and a sample of your patient intake flow.

Will my account get shut off without warning?

Our entire pitch is that this does not happen. If something in your business changes that affects our risk profile, you will hear from a real human at NoRamp before any action is taken.
